Peter Falkner Fashion Photography 1970s
Peter Falkner worked as a fashion photographer in the early 1970s. He specialised in portraits and headshots. He worked with model agencies including Askews International (see 1973 Headheet below), stylists, hairdressers, magazines (see covers of Woman's Journal and Mirabelle below), designers and cosmetic companies. These photographs were all pre-digital, scanned from 2¼" colour transparencies, using Kodak Ektachrome 120 roll film.
Gloria and Valerie Askew of Askew InternatIonal commissioned Peter Falkner to shoot their entire 1973 Models Head-sheet. 80 models were photographed. This was the first and only colour head-sheet by any model agency. Usually, they were in black and white and each model could supply their respective agency with their favourite photographs by different photographers. For the Askew 1973 colour head-sheet it was decided to use only one photographer (Falkner) to maintain consistent colour balance and correct skin tones by using a single batch of professional Ektachrome-X 120 roll)film, supplied by Kodak. Head-sheet printed by Peter Marlowe.
